Target Audience
This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants/physician associates, pharmacists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists, dietitians, and other healthcare practitioners who care for patients with obesity.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the obesity epidemic and its implications on personal and population health
- Differentiate between multiple medical interventions for weight loss, including dietary, pharmaceutical, surgical, and other therapies
- Apply obesity medicine treatments and interventions to daily practice, including knowing when to prescribe medications and make referrals to specialists if necessary
