Emeritus status is recognition of a faculty member's dedication and service to VCU School of Medicine and encourages a continuous relationship to the Department of Surgery. Emeritus faculty enjoy selected privileges associated with this honor and in return, understand the ongoing responsibility to support the department's mission of teaching, research, and service.
