Research
Our division has several ongoing clinical research programs underway, including outcomes research related to lower extremity revascularization using various endovascular techniques. Our vascular fellows have presented their work at regional and national meetings on topics that include lower extremity bypass, dialysis access, aneurysm management and upper extremity deep venous thrombosis management.

Vascular Residency Program
We offer training opportunities for general surgery residents along with a five-year integrated vascular surgery residency with rotations at both VCU with the Central Virginia VA Health System.

SYNOPSIS: This is the first major study to show head-to-head usability of two new commercially available products for creating fistulas for hemodialysis access. We found that only about half of all patients were candidates for this type of procedure, and the WavelinQtm could be used slightly more often.
