Community Involvement:
Dr. Leichtle is an instructor for the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma (ASSET), and Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) courses. He is active in the teaching and education of physicians, medical students, and nurses. He has been an invited lecturer at the USC Annual National Trauma, Emergency Surgery and Surgical Critical Care Symposium, Los Angeles County Nursing Critical Care Symposium, Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education, and Michigan Surgical Quality Collaborative. As Chair of the Issues Committee of the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Leichtle is engaged in political advocacy and interested in current issues regarding the provision of medical care and health policy.
