MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Welcome to the Division of Transplant Surgery, where our commitment to transplantation is unsurpassed. Our rich and innovative history began in 1962, when the formerly known Medical College of Virginia, now VCU Health, initiated a transplant program — one of three in the country at the time. As we pioneered history in transplantation, we also set the foundation for our future as a leading transplant center.
Our mission of providing the best in patient care, research and education has allowed us to maintain our position as a leading authority in all aspects of solid organ transplantation. The dedication of our staff has helped our program grow and develop into one that’s far more advanced than anyone thought possible just 50 years ago. We offer a Clinical Transplant Surgery Fellowship Program at the Hume-Lee Transplant Center that includes adult and pediatric renal, hepatic and pancreatic transplantation.
I invite you to learn more about what we are doing in transplantation at VCU Department of Surgery. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like additional information or to make an appointment.
